Afton Matthews
Afton has over 20 years’ experience in both AP and mainstream education, specialising in behaviour, alternative curriculum and trauma-informed practice. Prior to joining us, she held AP leadership roles across North Manchester, helping to develop programmes for some of the region’s most vulnerable and disengaged young people. Her key strengths lie in safeguarding, SEND, curriculum design and forging strong relationships with young people, families and external agencies. Afton also has significant experience of EHCPs, identifying individual needs and translating these into effective curriculum adaptations and interventions.
