EdStart Schools Bolton

Welcome to EdStart Schools Bolton

At EdStart Schools Bolton, we are proud to deliver high-quality, inclusive education across our three specialist sites – Manchester Road, which is Key Stage 3 provision and Castle Hill and Horwich, which are both Key Stage 4 provision. Together, our Bolton provision supports pupils in Years 7 to 11 who have been either excluded, are at risk of exclusion in their mainstream settings, or have identified need inclusive of an EHCP or perhaps have unmet needs that require a more personalised approach to learning.

Our mission is to re-engage every young person in a rich and meaningful curriculum that repairs gaps in learning, builds resilience, restores relationships, and inspires confidence. We ensure that every student experiences success, makes progress, and is fully supported in preparing for their next steps in education, training, or employment. Our Manchester Road provision will prepare students for transitions into Key Stage 4, or return to a mainstream setting with success at Key Stage 3. Our Horwich and Castle Hill centres, will endeavour to support students through Key Stage 4, attaining GCSE outcomes, and preparing students for further education or training.

The dedicated team across Bolton schools, is highly skilled in empathetic approaches and restorative practices, working closely with students to create a safe, supportive, and aspirational environment, to help overcome their adverse experiences. We place emphasis on students being Respectful, Responsible and Ready each day. Through this approach, we provide opportunities for students to make the right choices, and flourish both academically and personally.

We place a strong emphasis on personal development and cultural capital, celebrating the diversity of Bolton’s local community and offering enriching experiences that broaden horizons. Through our personal development framework, our young people will develop in our ethos fundamentals – Humanity, Compassion, Togetherness and Progression. They will learn to keep themselves and others safe – both in their communities and online. They will expand their knowledge of the wider world and understand Fundamental British Values, preparing them to navigate life in modern day Britain.

At EdStart Schools Bolton, we believe every child has the potential to succeed. Our goal is to help each young person rebuild confidence, achieve meaningful qualifications, and thrive in their future ambitions.
